ISBN 978-9941-17-539-8This publication is the first modern Georgian-Ossetian and Ossetian-Georgian dictionary compiled by joint efforts of the Georgian and Ossetian scholars. The only former version of the dictionary was published in 1955.
The dictionary contains more than 25 thousand words explained in both languages. Furthermore, it details the guidelines for using the publication and provides a glossary of abbreviations and definitions in Georgian and Ossetian.
The editor-in-chief of the dictionary is Professor Naira Bepievi. The addendum is a compilation of works by Members of the Academy of Sciences, the late Prof. Vasil Abaev and Prof. Avtandil Arabuli, examining grammatical aspects of the Ossetian and Georgian languages.
This publication has a significant scientific value and will become an asset for scholars, researchers, translators and students, as well as for those willing to study Georgian and Ossetian languages. It is also hoped to promote professional collaboration between the Georgian and Ossetian scholars.
