So why did I turn up soaking wet at the beach bar of a very rough around the edges, very hot single dad and insist he hire me?

Maybe because as it turned out, perfectly fine wasn't actually good enough. Soon, Grumpy Mac, his sullen teenage son, and his sunshiney dog show me just how messy and beautiful life can be.

But while this imperfect life and family I've stepped into here brings out a new me I love, it also highlights parts of the old me I miss—back there.

Will I have to choose between what I had and what I want? Or is it possible to have it all here and there?
